Tekamah-Herman Schools - Home of the Tigers

Our Kindergarten students have been working hard to become toy experts by examining attributes of toys, learning about toy preferences, and using their imaginations to build their own toy!

This post is in response to an allegation made at the Burt County Joint Public Hearing that Tekamah-Herman Schools are low achieving or underperforming. The Nebraska Department of Education rates ALL Nebraska schools using the AqUESTT accountability system. The AqUESTT system uses six indicators to rate schools across the state. The primary indicator for the AqUESTT system is state standardized tests such as the NSCAS test for grades three through eight and the ACT test for Juniors. The system has four rating categories: Excellent, Great, Good, and Needs Improvement. As you will see from the data below Tekamah-Herman Schools has performed in the Great rating category in four of the past five years that data has been available. Though we strive to be in the Excellent category, this data indicates that THS students are not low performing. As has been the case for generations, our students will continue to receive a quality educational experience that will allow them to be college or career ready upon graduation.
