Tekamah Herman Students once again partnered with Tekamah Library Foundation and Chatterbox to have a successful year of Read On. 130 students in grades kindergarten through 6th grade participated in the Read On program. Students are asked to read a certain number of minutes each month to earn a certificate to enjoy a small pizza or hamburger at Chatterbox. Additionally, if they meet their goal every month between October and March, they will earn a Pizza Party. Out of the participants, 70 of them turned in a Reading Calendar every month to earn a Pizza Party at Chatterbox. The Read On program is trying to encourage a love for reading. Reading not only boosts students' background knowledge and comprehension, it also takes them on some great adventures that teaches them about the world around them. We hope the love for reading continues to grow at THS. A big thank you to Tekamah Library Foundation for supporting the Read On Program by buying them their Read On Buttons and the Pizza Party at Chatterbox. Also a big thanks to Cindy Chatt at Chatterbox for allowing us to enjoy pizza and burgers there! In closing, over 106,800 minutes were read by students outside of the school day this school year! WOW!
