Second grade has been learning about fossils in Module. Denise Hunter came to the classroom and did a presentation on fossils. She visits a friend's ranch in Montana every summer and hunts for fossils there. The students got to dig through Montana dirt and find fossils. She taught them the way to know the difference between a rock and a fossil is to rub the dirt off and then lick it. If it sticks to your tongue it is a fossil, and if it doesn't then it is just a rock. Fascinating!
